Saddle

A soft leaf on the University of San Francisco campus

One day last week, I just forgot to write a post. I went to sleep early after a long day, and when I woke up, I realized: oh hey! Streak over. Unceremoniously, a month and a half of daily posts came to a close.

Then, I skipped a few more days for good measure.

Now, I’m trying to get back in the saddle…even though many fibers of my being are putting up a fight. I feel petulant: I don’t want to! You can’t make me!

But nobody’s making anyone do anything. I just happened to notice that turning my days into short posts made them all feel more meaningful. I’d like that back; it’s worth a few minutes a day. So I’m going to see if this can be the next beginning.
