A financial coda

Over the weekend, Lisa and I published a new episode of our podcast, Should We. This one’s about finances—a fraught topic, but one we keep coming back to. In the episode, I mention a service I’ve been using to pipe data from my bank accounts and credit and debit cards into a live-updating spreadsheet. It’s called Tiller, and I first heard about it from Lisa. When we recorded the episode, it was still pretty new to me. A few weeks later, I can still highly recommend Tiller. There are few computer tasks as satisfying to me designing a really, really good spreadsheet. Tiller gives me all the data I need to pull that off in an arena that matters a lot to me: building awareness of where money goes, so that I can make more conscious choices.
