Quality of light
All afternoon, I sat under a fig tree with someone I trust and traded brand-new secrets. We’ve worked together for over a year now as coach and client, and this was the capstone: five hours together to make meaning of everywhere I’ve been.
The light felt heavenly. There were so many places to look. Bright flowers, squiggly ferns, gentle leaves. A small dog named Monkey and her stately silver and taupe coat. Black nose quivering, dark eyes blinking.
Here at the end of the day, I feel sunworn and sleepy. I wonder what will happen in my dreams.
